Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who can use Ability8?
Ability8 is an app that helps individuals and families of people with a disability to manage their care needs in one central location. With three plans to choose from, you choose what information to share information with support workers, healthcare providers or family members to ensure continuity of care and help self-manage your NDIS plan.

  • Why do you ask for payment details?
We ask for your credit card or PayPal information for a few reasons. To prevent fraud So that you don’t experience any interruption in your subscription if you decide to continue using the Ability8 platform after your free (30-day) trial is over.
  • How do I cancel my subscription or account?
We’ll be sorry to see you go, but you can cancel your recurring subscription at any time from within your account. Just go to your menu, click “More”, “License,” then “Deactivate Account”, which is located in the top right corner.
  • Why is there a $1 charge in my bank statement?
To ensure safe and secure online transactions and prevent fraud, Braintree (the company that handles our online payments) verifies credit cards by running a $1 authorisation, and then automatically voiding it. While they send a void request immediately following the card verification, some banks don't acknowledge those requests immediately, which could result in a temporary $1 charge on your statement. Unfortunately, this is a mandatory requirement and it's not something we can turn off. If you're confused about a lingering $1 verification charge on your statement, please call your bank and ask them to remove the charge; the bank can update your statement accordingly. Alternately, if you don't want to contact your bank, simply wait for the verification to fall off of your statement. Either way, the $1 charge will never be completed. Card verification is a strong first-line defence against potentially fraudulent cards, and ensures that the credit card number provided is associated with a valid, open account, and charged successfully.
  • What do I get in the free trial?
You’ll enjoy free, unlimited access to all the tools and features available in your chosen Ability8 plan. It's the perfect way to experience how our platform can help you.
  • What happens when my Ability8 trial ends?
After your 30-days are up, you’ll become a paid subscriber to the Ability8 plan that you selected when registering for your free trial. Charges will vary according to the plan level and the billing cycle you choose.
  • Can I sign up for another free trial?
Technically, yes—but it’s not an ideal way to manage your or your loved one's care plan. The content and pages you create within one account are private and exclusive to that account—so it’s not something we recommend.
